Quote format is impratical for group chats and non-configurable
A lot of my friends and I use a shared XMPP server for our communication. As we all have class/work at different times, we rely on history and quoting from that history to follow up with previous messages and especially mentions. Before Gajim 1.4, quotes used to always include the data and the username of the original message. This made it possible to go back and look at more parts of the previous conversation, and would cause the original poster to receive a notification so they would notice that a conversation could now continue or take place. Since 1.4 however, these two items are no longer included, just ">" and the message.
As my friends have been unable to figure out how to configure this, they have been trying to keep 1.3 running on their systems (instead of filing a simple bug, which I am therefore now doing out of frustration). I understand that the future is of course support for XEP-0461 #11075 (closed) but in the mean time I think it would be sensible to make the quote behaviour configurable, or to even consider reverting this behaviour. I'm actually very surprised no one else has complained about the lack of mentions within the new quote system, though perhaps the difficulty in quoting in general, as outlined in #11298 plays a role.
