Enhance group chat join and invitation process
The process of joining a group chat or inviting contacts to one (or even creating one) can be enhanced in many ways.
What follows is a list of suggestions:
-
Invite menu should be available for non-online contacts (direct invite) (see #8198 (closed)) (see !464 (merged)) -
Invitation by drag'n'drop from the contact list to a group chat should be possible (fixed, see !457 (merged)) -
'Create group chat' should be available as an additional menu item (see !478 (merged)) -
Created group chats should have sane default settings (private: done in e91ba351) -
There should be an invite menu item in the group chat's menu -
The invite dialog should be better. This dialog could probably be a version of the Start Chat Dialog (without GroupChats) (see !458 (closed)) -
Maybe there could be an invite button above the group chat participants list (+ search bar?) (see !595 (merged))
Not considered in this iteration:
GUI for transforming a single chat to a group chat should be reworkedThere is no context menu on group chat tabs, which is an inconsistent experience (see #9202 (closed))
