OSX: missing dependencies (msgfmt) and autogen.sh not working

Executing autogen.sh fails because the MacOS ls doesn't support the -U flag. As far as I can tell it is redundant, because it doesn't bring any functionality in this script. If it is not, the script could detect the operating system and add the -U flag dynamically.

Compiling gajim on MacOS X requires the tool msgfmt, not found on a fresh install of MacOS X. It is usually (on Linux) in the GNU gettext utilities. Installing gettext via MacPorts solves the problem, but I'm not sure where this is a very good solution (it did work though), either way, this should be mentioned somewhere in the documentation.
