Message history not received from 'customer' until I initiated a conversation with them
- OS: Pop! 22.04
- Gajim version: 1.8.8
- GTK version: 3.24.38
- Python-nbxmpp version: 4.3.0
This is strange. I have Gajim running on my desktop all the time, though the machine will obviously sleep/suspend throughout the day. While I was out and about, I received a few text messages from a customer on my Android device (using Cheogram) but I didn't respond since I needed to get back to my desk to do some studying before replying.
Around this time, I also received a call to this same VOIP number, but the caller didn't leave a message or text.
I would obviously expect to see notifications for both of these events in Gajim, along with the message thread from one customer. but Gajim didn't see any of it. I tried to initiate a history sync, but that didn't do anything.
I then tried to force a specific sync with the texting customer by typing in his information "+18005551212@cheogram.com" and that does it - when I typed that in to the new chat window, it downloaded everything he had sent earlier in the day.
I'm becoming a bit apprehensive that I may not be receiving other communications from customers. These customers are going to typically be cell phone users texting/calling me at my business VOIP number which is JMP.chat/cheogram. The Cheogram client seems to receive everything, but I'm only just trying out Gajim to see if it can be a reliable desktop client. Might I be missing a setting, plugin, etc?
