Emojis in workspace icons appear as placeholder (but appear fine in the input)

Yeah that will not work, GTK does not support any emoji fonts on Windows. You need to google for a picture of an emoji and use the "Use Image" method.

Oh the textbox isn't GTK? weird.

It is of course, your emoji looks on first look like a rectangle so i thought its the same. maybe we need to change the font on the avatar to the same font we use for the textbox

emojis are also working fine in the conversation preview in the workspace chats list. i guess whatever is working there is failing on the icon bit.

@wurstsalat line emojis still manage to convey information, which is an improvement over a placeholder square!
