Send Ad Hoc Commands to offline transports
I have a chicken-or-egg deadlock: I am using Biboumi to bridge to IRC. I want to get onto irc.debian.org, which is hosted on irc.oftc.net, but its SSL is misconfigured and doesn't return a proper cert for irc.debian.org.
Biboumi has a workaround for this; I can disable SSL verification by sending an Ad-Hoc command to xmpp:irc.debian.org@biboumi.example.net. However, Biboumi doesn't send an online <presence>
for xmpp:irc.debian.org@biboumi.example.net until it's connected to that server, but I can't connect to that server without sending that Ad-Hoc command, which I can't do because it's offline:
Movim allows me to send Ad-Hoc commands to offline JIDs, and Biboumi's developer expects that to be the behaviour of clients, so I'm here to request that you disable disabling the "Execute Command" option. If you can send messages to offline / not-on-roster contacts, why not commands to transports?
Thanks for your time.
