Use an encryption default for MUCs. Closes #11749
... and 5104 more commits
The feature was introduced in !965, however, as of 1.8.4, groupchats do not respect this setting.
I will try to debug it in the coming weeks.
I'm quite busy ATM, feel free to use my code.
I mean, it should be available on any sensible distro. that's what I mean
What we can do is to always use python-emoji for the processor, and only use the feature introduced in this MR if the package is recent enough (i.e., try to import it and no-op + warn if it fails)
But then, since python-emoji is basically omnipresent, I'd use it as a required dependency and only use the purely_emoji
(>= 2.6.0) feature as optional.
In such case, perhaps we should try using emoji lib first and if it's missing, fallback to the current code. Once debian has a recent enough version of emoji, we'd remove that code.
@lovetox @wurstsalat @mjk what's your take on replacing gtk emoji data by python-emoji stuff? I can take care of that too.
