Allow sending <img/> urls via xhtml-im
As a user, I have a link of a picture that I want to show my friends. I paste the link in the input and sends it, but it only appears as a link on the other side.
I know of the ImagePlugin, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, because it uses data:
. Also it wouldn't be practical anyway because my client would first need to download that picture.
UI-wise there could be something similar to the ImagePlugin, and allowing people to use links instead, and that would be sent on the wire as <img src="https://mylink"/>
with optional whatever alongside (<p><img src="https://mylink"/> See my beautiful picture</p>
