weird problems with GoogleTalk-Service
since today google introduced a new service: Google Talk. for those who dont know, its an IM / VoIP-client based on jabber and you can connect to the service with virtually any jabber-client (requiring a valid gmail-account, restricting users to only talk to other google-talk users (there is no communication with users on other servers - ow and of course IM only, the VoIP-protocol is based on XMPP too but not yet published).
i'm not sure if this but only affects gajim or if its a general problem the google-talk server has:
if you are talking to another google-talk user and this user signs off while you have the conversation window still open then you get this weird behaviour shown on the screenshots.
when closing the conversation window you are still getting the messages (shown in the small screenshot from the roster) and when reopening a chat window with this user the same messages appear again.
the messages you get are 'error while sending "None" ( service-unavailable )' where "None" is the status-message the chatpartner quits with.
to me it seems that we are trying to send the quit-message back to the chatpartner again (the messages do not appear in the history).
i got notification on for new messages and account-sign in. chat state notifications for composing only, sound events totally off, most other things are still default-settings, i used the debian-package on my ubuntu 5.04 here and installed it with dpkg --force-depends -i gajim_0.8-1_i386.deb as root where some dependencies did not really match (didnt remember which, but i can give you version numbers for all packages gajim depends on).
the strange behaviour does not occur if you did not chat with the account who signs out and also not if the chat-window is closed before the other one signs out.
