Gajim window incompatible with Microsoft PowerToys FancyZones since Gajim version > 2.0
Please first check if another issue has been opened for your problem I've checked and couldn't find an existing issue describing this behavior.
Versions
- OS: Windows 11
- Gajim version: 2.3.3 (and other versions > 2.0)
- PowerToys version: v0.92.1
Steps to reproduce the problem:
- Install Microsoft PowerToys and enable FancyZones
- Configure FancyZones with custom zones and set up the hotkey (default: Shift while dragging)
- Open Gajim (version > 2.0)
- Try to drag the Gajim window while holding the Shift key
- Observe that FancyZones overlay does not appear
- Try the same process with other applications (e.g., Notepad, Browser) - FancyZones works normally
Expected behavior: When dragging the Gajim window while holding the PowerToys hotkey (Shift), the FancyZones overlay should appear, allowing the user to drop the window into a specific zone where it should then maximize/resize to fit that zone.
Actual behavior: FancyZones overlay does not appear when dragging Gajim windows, making it impossible to use FancyZones functionality with Gajim. This worked fine with Gajim versions prior to 2.0.
Additional information:
- This issue appears to be related to changes in window management in Gajim versions > 2.0
- Other applications work normally with FancyZones
- The issue affects window positioning and productivity workflows on Windows
