Allow us to change the character limit in a message before it is hidden by a [Read more] button.

As of writing this issue the latest Gajim versions hide messages longer than about 1000 characters with a "Read more" button.

Since you have decided not to let us disable this function, please allow us to set the character length that will trigger this feature instead.
