I [noted on jdev](http://article.gmane.org/gmane.network.jabber.devel/26756) that Gajim's HostTester causes errors in [the ejabberd proxy65 implementation](http://www.jabber.ru/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=25) used at proxy.jabber.cd.chalmers.se. Gajim sends a SOCKS5 CONNECT command to the same address (sha1(NoneNoneNone)) each time. The proxy notices that this cookie has already been used, and immediately disconnects.
So my questions are:
1. Does Gajim interpret this as that the proxy is working? I think it should, but as I read the code it seems it doesn't.
1. Should the proxy give a more courteous error message?

There is no place to get "Information" on yourself as there is with all your contacts. ...xmppy/transport.py contains some 'print' statements to report certain problem situations. Specifically it reports when no supported DNS library is found, and when an error occurs querying for a SRV record. (see #844 for more context)
Per discussion on the 'gajim' MUC, the xmppy library uses its own logging mechanism instead of the standard 'logging' module. However, this plugin component isn't necessarily available where the print statements are currently located (eg during module import).
The print statments need to be replaced with proper logging. This will require some thought and reworking of how the logging is used and is thus not an immediate-term task.0.4Yann LeboulangerYann Leboulangerhttps://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/issues/2334Groupchat: make history lines sent by MUC gray2018-04-30T11:42:26ZLiorithielGroupchat: make history lines sent by MUC grayMake history lines sent by MUC gray (and small) so it will be consistent with 1-1 chat.
